Vans Knu Skool is the puffy 1998 Vans skate revival, exaggerating the Old Skool-style side stripe with a padded tongue and Y2K proportions. The story is strong, but owner feedback still points to thin stock insoles and a narrow toe box.
Vans Knu Skool exaggerates the familiar Vans side-stripe shape with a padded tongue, chunkier proportions, and a more 90s skate feel. It is louder than Old Skool but still easy to understand. The shoe works best with baggier jeans, cargos, shorts, and relaxed outfits. If you want a slim Vans shoe, choose Authentic, Slip-On, or Old Skool instead.
Narrow in the toe box. The community consistently recommends half size up — the extra padding makes the interior smaller than it appears. Wide-footed buyers should go a full size up. One owner with narrow feet still needed to size up from 11 in slip-ons to 12 in Knus. They do break in and loosen slightly.
The padded collar and tongue feel like house slippers, but the stock insole is paper-thin.
