The Daruma, also known as the "doll of goals," is a Japanese lucky charm amulet. It is handcrafted from papier-mâché and represents the monk Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. According to legend, he achieved enlightenment after nine years of solitary meditation in a cave, but his arms and legs withered and eventually fell off, resulting in Daruma's round shape.
