- Wonder Looper transforms the brand's Extra Long Staple (ELS) Recycled Cotton Slub tees through a range of natural hand dye techniques from Japan's Amami Ōshima island. The ELS tees feature an irregular slub texture ideal for hand dyeing, highlighting the natural variations in color and tones achieved through hand dyeing. This iteration features a combination of Sharinabi and Dorozome dye techniques. A warm, rose-tinted color, Sharinabi is derived from the tannins of Sharinbai trees native to Amami island. The Doro Max dye features a deep mud-dye utilizing the island's natural occurring iron-rich mud fields.
The ELS Tees are crafted from a unique blend of lightweight recycled cotton, offcuts from the brand's Double Heavyweight series, and Extra Long Staple organic cotton yarns. Knit at a slow and low-tension pace, the fabric achieves a dense slub-textured body while retaining a soft touch. Cut in a modern athletic fit with a binder-neck ribbed collar and Union Special flat side-seam.
