Augustus Pablo, born Horace Swaby, was a seminal Jamaican roots reggae and dub producer and multi-instrumentalist who rose to prominence in the 1970s. He is widely credited with popularizing the melodica in reggae music, an instrument previously confined to educational settings in Jamaica.
