The Vans Old Skool 36 LX, originally known as Style 36 and first released in 1977, was the second skate shoe from Vans and the first to feature the iconic Sidestripe. This iteration utilizes high-quality 8oz canvas for the upper, accented with cow suede overlays on the toe and heel. It features a padded collar lining made of full-grain leather and 100% cotton laces. The design incorporates a thicker, gloss-finished sidewall and foxing tape, reminiscent of archival designs. For modern comfort, it includes Sola Foam All-Day Comfort technology, a high-rebound polyurethane foam made with 30% bio-based materials, and retains the signature vulcanized rubber waffle outsole and rear license plate branding.
