Studio D'artisan's 15oz fabric is woven on original Toyoda power looms from the 1950s. While the loom can only weave 5 meters of fabric per hour, it creates a unique and uneven roughness which cannot be replicated though modern production methods. Using thick rope-like cotton yarns, SDA repeatedly dip-dyes the yarn to achieve the darkest indigo possible. Treated with an in-house rinse process enhancing the fabric's texture and eliminating shrinkage.
