The ‘Alamsati’ sari is crafted from red Varanasi silk brocade, inspired by the velvet textiles of the Ottoman Empire and reflecting the Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb of Awadh. The floral motifs are intricately woven using gold and silver zari.
- Woven using the Kadwa technique, where each motif is individually woven with an extra weft insertion.
- The reverse of the textile shows no thread floats.
