In the Vale of Avalon: Glastonbury Festival 1971 is a previously unseen photo documentary of the festival's inaugural year, featuring the iconic pyramid stage. Photographer Paul Misso attended the event at the invitation of film director Nic Roeg, who had planned to make a film of the festival and enlisted Misso to capture the visuals. Although Roeg ultimately shelved his film project, he recognized the power of Misso's photographs, stating that Misso had 'captured it' in a way he hadn't. These photographs, nearly lost to time, are now presented in this book.
