The first printed matter by Hodakova is a first materialization of a long time collaboration between Ellen Hodakova Larsson and Nils Edström.
Edström’s oeuvre has been around Larsson’s work for years. With his lens, through the particularities of his points of views, he invites us to step inside that world too. It is a place embedded in play and intuition, sensibility and sense. The afternoon at Musée Bourdelle is no stranger to this atmosphere and the dim light sunshine amuses Larsson’s creations by piercing through the glass ceiling casting shadows on the mineral walls. Collection 112509 is as present in form as it is in matter. Each material carries history through heritage with every other silhouette kindly questioning that story by telling it again, differently. Likewise can the assemblages of images be read again and again. The story read, only, between the pages comes without beginning nor end.
A printed matter extends and endures, much like Larsson’s practice at large. With her garments as objects and objects as garments; the idea of crafting a publication has not been further than an arm’s length away. It opens a given chapter to a new field of her ongoing research with Hodakova.
