Originally co-created with KITH, the GEL-KAYANO 12.1 makes it's way to a wide release, combining iconic design details from the original GEL-KAYANO 12 that launched in 2006 with a modern tooling system. This design's upper was inspired by European gothic armor and it's structural, metallic properties. Meanwhile, its open mesh underlays help improve airflow to keep feet cool. The midsole features the same tooling system from the 2015 GEL-NIMBUS 17 shoe. It was originally engineered for comfort during the duration of marathons, featuring dual GEL technology inserts and a FLUIDRIDE cushioning structure.
