This jacket is inspired by an Austrian straw hat, circa 1930s. The hat brim was embroidered with this twining wildflower-and-vine pattern, reproduced along the pockets and cuffs of this velvet jacket. The embroidery is worked by hand in colorful yarn and metallic bullion braid, with silver sequins studded throughout.
