Primal Mountain is a photography book by artist Yuji Hamada, published by Torch Press in 2019. The book explores themes of truth and falsehood, the visible and the invisible, and the nature of perception, inspired by Hamada's experiences and a postcard of a mountain. Hamada questions what defines a mountain and how we recognize landscapes, creating "made" landscapes that our brains interpret as scenery.
