Asif Leather Jacket

Mainline:RUS/Fr.CA/DE Asif Leather Jacket is a one–off artisanal piece, constructed with the recycled leather from the performance by Mainline:RUS/Fr.CA/DE head at Voo Store during Berlin Art Week 2020. The performance addresses the preconditioned timeline of animal skin, exploring society’s relationship with leather and offering a sustainable concept for reusing waste. Using the discarded leather sofa as a reference and recontextualising the material’s initial purpose and value, the potential that lies beyond the limits of the societal clichés of unwanted furniture gets unveiled and activated.
