The ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 is a modern interpretation of the GEL-Kayano 12, originally released in 2006, now co-created with KITH. This iteration merges archival design elements with contemporary technology, drawing inspiration from the structural and metallic properties of European gothic armor for its upper, while prioritizing airflow. The midsole utilizes the tooling system from the 2015 ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 17.
