The ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 in 'Cream Black' is a collaboration with Brazilian streetwear brand, PACE, continuing their creative dialogue between Brazilian and Japanese design. Inspired by rice, a staple food in both cultures, the design emphasizes surface and tactility. The upper features materials designed to invite touch, with a layer over white technical mesh that reproduces the texture of raw rice, alongside black and white synthetic leather panels with embossed graphics. This iteration updates the iconic 2006 GEL-KAYANO™ 12 upper with a modern sole setup, drawing cues from European gothic armor for its structured overlays and metallic-looking details.
