Yohji Yamamoto

Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto launched his first label, Y’s, in Tokyo in 1972 before debuting his eponymous collection in Paris in 1981, where his deconstructed, all-black aesthetic shocked and redefined Western fashion. One of the most influential designers of the 20th century, Yamamoto continues to operate between Tokyo and Paris.
