Taschen is a Cologne-based art book publisher founded in 1980 by 18-year-old Benedikt Taschen out of a comic book shop. The house democratized the art book market with accessible, visually striking editions and landmark publications like Helmut Newton's SUMO (1999), the largest bound book of the 20th century.
