Missoma was founded in London in 2007 by Marisa Hordern, who identified a gap between disposable costume jewelry and fine jewelry priced for special occasions. By focusing on gold vermeil and demi-fine pieces designed for everyday stacking and layering, Hordern helped define a category that barely existed when she started. The brand designs in-house in London and has since expanded into fine gold and sterling silver.
