Merrell was founded in 1981 by Randy Merrell, Clark Matis, and John Schweizer in Vermont, launching with handcrafted hiking boots that Backpacker Magazine called the most comfortable in North America. Now a subsidiary of Wolverine World Wide, the brand is best known for its Moab hiking boot and Jungle Moc slip-on.
