Founded in 1889 by Henry David Lee in Salina, Kansas as the H.D. Lee Mercantile Company, Lee is one of America's foundational denim brands, pivoting from grocery distribution to workwear manufacturing in 1912. The brand introduced the iconic Union-All jumpsuit in 1913 and pioneered the zipper fly in jeans; it is now part of Kontoor Brands.
