Helmut Lang

Founded in 1986 in Vienna by self-taught Austrian designer Helmut Lang, the label pioneered the 1990s minimalism movement with its stripped-back, industrial aesthetic. Lang moved the brand to New York in 1997 before stepping away in 2005; the house continues under new creative direction, now owned by Fast Retailing.
