Karl Lagerfeld joined as creative director in 1965 — a partnership that lasted 54 years until his death in 2019 — and transformed Fendi into a major luxury house known for the Baguette bag, the double-F logo, Italian artisanship, and a playful irreverence unusual in luxury fashion.
