DC Shoes was founded in 1994 in Carlsbad, California, by Ken Block and Damon Way as a skate footwear brand. The brand's chunky, technical skate shoes — the Kalis, the Court Graffik — defined late-1990s skate fashion. DC expanded into snowboarding, motocross, and a full apparel line, sponsoring riders from Rob Dyrdek to Danny Way.
