Founded in 1975 in New York City by Jeff Clyman, Avirex built its reputation reproducing authentic WWII flight jackets before winning U.S. Air Force contracts in the 1980s. The brand became a defining uniform of 1990s hip-hop culture, worn by Notorious B.I.G., Nas, and Snoop Dogg.
